Regional Infrastructure Alert: Phase Two of Clark Road Improvements Underway plymouth

PLYMOUTH, MA — The Town of Plymouth Department of Public Works (DPW) has officially launched Phase Two of the Clark Road Improvement Project as of Monday morning, April 20, 2026.

While much of the county observes the Patriots’ Day holiday, work crews have mobilized near The Pinehills to begin a critical expansion of the roadway infrastructure. Residents and commuters should prepare for shifting traffic patterns in the coming weeks.

Project Details & Immediate Impact

The current scope of work is concentrated on the stretch of Clark Road between the Meeting Way intersection and the three-way junction of Landmark Drive, Clark Road, and Mainstone Boulevard.

For the week of April 20, the DPW has scheduled the following:

  • Vegetation Management: Intensive tree clearing along the shoulders to prepare for road widening.
  • Erosion Control: Installation of silt fencing and runoff protection measures.
  • Traffic Delays: While the road remains open, motorists are advised to expect intermittent “stop-and-go” traffic. Flaggers are on-site to manage vehicle flow around heavy equipment.

Strategic Infrastructure Growth

This phase is part of a larger initiative to improve safety and drainage for one of the town’s busiest corridors. The DPW notes that while today’s holiday may result in lighter-than-usual commuter volume, the construction schedule will remain aggressive through the spring.
