High school boys hockey teams across Plymouth County are making their push in the 2026 postseason as the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association state tournaments continue through March.

Several South Shore programs entered the tournament after strong regular seasons, including teams from Scituate High School, Hanover High School, Plymouth South High School, and Marshfield High School.

Scituate Advances Before Tournament Exit

The Scituate Sailors had a strong showing in the Division 3 bracket, defeating Ludlow in the early rounds before advancing to the later stages of the tournament. Scituate ultimately fell to Nauset Regional in the quarterfinal round, ending a competitive postseason run for the South Shore program.

Plymouth South Appears in Division 2 Playoffs

The Plymouth South Panthers earned a spot in the Division 2 state tournament following a competitive regular season schedule that included matchups against teams such as Scituate, Bridgewater-Raynham, and Hanover. The Panthers faced Falmouth in the opening round of the postseason as they looked to advance deeper into the state bracket.

Hanover Among Top Contenders

Hanover High School also made headlines in the Division 3 tournament, advancing through early rounds and posting a strong victory over Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School to keep its championship hopes alive.

State Championships at TD Garden

The MIAA boys hockey championships for all divisions are scheduled to take place in mid-March at TD Garden in Boston, where the remaining teams will compete for state titles.

South Shore Hockey Tradition Continues

Boys hockey remains one of the most competitive winter sports on the South Shore, with several Plymouth County programs regularly qualifying for the MIAA state tournament each year. Strong youth hockey programs and community support continue to help develop players who compete at high levels across Massachusetts.
