Tesla struck by South Shore commuter train Hingham, Massachusetts

First responders are on scene of a crash involving a car and an MBTA commuter rail train near the Nantasket Junction rail stop.

Hingham police said in a social media post that Summer Street is closed at Route 3A and Rockland Street due to the crash, which happened just after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials at the scene said the train had just left the station when it hit the car, a Tesla, and was not travling at full speed.

The driver of the Tesla was taken to the hospital. No one aboard the train was injured.
