Marion Mass -Mark your calendars for Monday, May 25, 2026, as Marion honors Memorial Day with its annual Remembrances and Procession. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Music Hall at 164 Front Street. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the gathering will move indoors to the Multipurpose Room at Sippican Elementary School.

The day will come alive with music from the Sippican School Marching Band, directed by Hannah Moore, alongside the lively Portuguese American Band. The procession will follow its familiar path, starting from the Music Hall and heading north along Front Street for 0.6 miles, ending at the Veterans’ Memorial at Old Landing.

Once there, the town will pause to honor the brave members of the military who made the ultimate sacrifice, paying tribute to those who “gave the last full measure of devotion.” The ceremony will conclude with members of the Select Board laying a wreath at the memorial, led by Technical Sergeant Mandy Givens of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, who will serve as master of ceremonies.

Residents are warmly invited to join the remembrances and to line the parade route along Front Street from Cottage Street to Ryder Lane, showing their respect and appreciation for those who served.
