A fallen tree branch crashed down onto a home during the thunderstorms on Thursday night in Plymouth, Massachusetts, piercing the wall near where a 2-year-old boy was sleeping.

His mother, Nicole Kuhn, described the frightening close call.

“He was laying in his bed sleeping across and the tree hit and went through and moved his entire bed,” she said.

Kuhn said the impact woke her son.

“He was shaking like a leaf. He was shaking like a leaf. He was terrified,” she said.

Despite the scare, the child was not injured.

Numerous other communities also reported storm damage overnight. For example, the Somerset Fire Department said it responded to 31 calls during the storm and the Freetown Fire Department reported hundreds of residents without power as of Friday morning.
