? BREAKING: Plymouth Police Officer and Husband Arrested, Charged with Child Rape

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — A Plymouth police officer and her husband were arrested Thursday and charged with multiple counts of child rape and related offenses, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and local news reports.

? What Happened

Officer Samantha Pelrine, 31, and her husband Daniel Forand, 37, were taken into custody by Massachusetts State Police at their home without incident. The couple was booked and brought to Plymouth District Court for arraignment Thursday.

Pelrine is now charged with multiple counts of aggravated child rape and statutory rape, while Forand faces dozens of charges including aggravated child rape, indecent assault and battery, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

? Court Proceedings

Both defendants pleaded not guilty at arraignment. Pelrine was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail and Forand on $25,000 cash bail, according to court records.

Prosecutors allege some incidents date back several years, involving a person who lived with the couple as a minor.

? Department Response

The Plymouth Police Department confirmed Pelrine had been placed on paid administrative leave earlier this month after being notified of a state police investigation into her off‑duty conduct.

In an official statement, the department said it was “appalled and deeply disturbed” by the allegations and emphasized its commitment to a thorough internal investigation.

? What’s Next

Pelrine’s duty status remains under review as the department and state police continue their inquiries. Both she and Forand are expected to return to court for future proceedings.
