Medical Examiner Releases Findings in Middleborough Missing Woman Case; Community Holds Vigil in Her Memory

Middleborough / Wareham, MA — January 9, 2026 (plimoth)— New details have emerged in the case of 41-year-old Amy Nadolny, a Middleborough mother who was reported missing last fall and later found deceased in Wareham. Her family, friends, and members of the community have continued to mourn and seek answers.

Discovery and Investigation

Nadolny, a lifelong Middleborough resident, was last seen and heard from on September 7, 2025, near the Narrows Crossing Restaurant in Wareham.

On September 19, her body was found in a wooded area beside the railroad tracks behind the CVS and Dunkin’ on 419 Main Street in Wareham, approximately 0.7 miles from her last known location.

In early January, authorities released the medical examiner’s report, stating that the cause and manner of Nadolny’s death could not be determined. Officials also confirmed that the case was being investigated as an unattended death by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, along with Middleborough and Wareham police.

Community Response

The community came together in October 2025 to remember Nadolny and offer support to her family. A candlelight vigil was held on Saturday, October 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the South Middleboro Schoolhouse on Wareham Street in Middleborough, where friends, family, classmates, and neighbors gathered to honor her memory.

At the vigil, more than 50 attendees lit candles and shared stories about Nadolny’s life and the positive impact she had on others. Friends described her as someone who “loved her family, her friends, and her children” and was a source of light and support for those around her. Her young son, Joshua Veary, age 7, took part in passing the flame to attendees’ candles, symbolizing the community’s shared remembrance.

A Memorial Mass for Nadolny was also held on October 14, 2025, as the community continued to pay tribute to her life and legacy.

Ongoing Investigation

Although the death remains unexplained, law enforcement continues to solicit any information from the public that might assist in the investigation. Anyone with knowledge relevant to the case is encouraged to contact the Massachusetts State Police at 508-894-2584.
